CAUSE
When the site is created, it pulls the information from the template and is
unaware of any template changes.
RESOLUTION
To increase the quota value of an existing site, follow these steps.
For SharePoint Portal Server 2003
1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to SharePoint
Portal Server, and then click SharePoint Central Administration.
2. On the SharePoint Portal Server Central Administration for
SiteName page, click Configure site quotas and locks from the Virtual Server
List page in the Portal Sites and Virtual Server Configuration section.
3. On the Manage Quotas and Locks page, click Manager site
collection quotas and locks in the Manager Quotas section.
4. On the Manage Site Collection Quotas and Locks page, type
the URL for an existing site, and then click View Data.
5. Click the name of the modified template in the Current
quota template list.
6. Click OK.
For Windows SharePoint Services
1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative
Tools, and then click SharePoint Central Administration.
2. Click Manage quotas and locks.
3. Click Manage site collection quotas and locks.
4. Type the URL of the site collection for which you have to
update the quota, and then click View Data.
5. Under Site Quota Information, reselect the quota that you
originally applied and that has since been amended.
6. Click OK.
To verify that the changes were made, follow these steps:
1. Visit the site collection for which you reapplied the
quota.
2. Click Site Settings.
3. Click Go to site administration.
4. Click View site collection usage summary. The Maximum
storage allowed should now reflect the correct storage for the template as you
previously amended it.
