SUMMARY
This article contains information about how to view and how to manage site
collection users on the portal site in Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal
Server 2003.
The Manage Site Collection Users Web page (Siteusrs.aspx) that you use to view
and to manage site collection users on the portal site is not exposed in the
SharePoint Portal Server 2003 user interface. This article describes two
methods that you can use to view and to manage site collection users in
SharePoint Portal Server 2003.
Method 1: Use the Manage Site Collection Users page
You must manually connect to the Manage Site Collection Users page to use the
Manage Site Collection Users page. To connect, type the following address in
the Address bar of your Web browser, and then press ENTER:
http://ServerName/_layouts/1033/Siteusrs.aspx
In the address, ServerName is the name of the server that is running SharePoint
Portal Server 2003. To determine whether a user is a site collection
administrator, view the Site collection administrator entry for that user.
• If the user is a site collection administrator, the value is Yes.
• If the user is not a site collection administrator, the value is blank.
To edit the properties of a user, click the name of the user, and then click
Edit User Information on the User information: UserName page.
Method 2: Use the User information page for the user
To determine whether a user is a site collection administrator, view the User
information page for that user. Follow these steps:
1. Connect to the portal site, and then click Site Settings.
2. On the Site Settings page, click Manage security and
additional settings under General Settings.
3. On the Manage security and additional settings page, click
Show user information under Users and Permissions.
4. On the User information page, click the name of the user
who you want to view.
5. On the User information: UserName page, view the Site
collection administrator entry.
• If the user is a site collection administrator, the value is Yes.
• If the user is not a site collection administrator, the value is blank.
To edit the properties of a user, click Edit User Information.
