After you install security update 931212 (MS07-040) on a Microsoft Windows
SharePoint Services 3.0 Web front-end server or a Microsoft Office SharePoint
Server 2007 Web front-end server, you receive many errors messages in the
Unified Logging Service (ULS) log files in the following folder: \Program
Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\LOGS The error
messages resemble the following error message:
8/04/2007 17:39:44.99 OWSTIMER.EXE (0x1554) 0x05B8 Windows SharePoint Services
Timer 5uuf Monitorable The previous instance of the timer job 'Config Refresh',
id '{573BE459-DF82-481C-84BD-CA14D287450B}' for service
'{49A27252-A326-4EF1-B698-6EBC7068833C}' is still running, so the current
instance will be skipped. Consider increasing the interval between jobs.
Note The size of the ULS log files may quickly increase depending on how many
users access the SharePoint Web front-end servers.
To work around this issue, change the logging level. To do this, follow these
steps:
1. Use an account that has administrative permissions to log
on to a server that is running Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 or SharePoint
Server 2007.
2. Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click
SharePoint 3.0 Central Administration.
3. On the Central Administration page, click Operations.
4. Under Logging and Reporting, click Diagnostic Logging.
5. On the Diagnostic Logging page, click Timer next to Event
Throttling, in the Select a category list.
6. In the Least critical event to report to the event log
list, click Error.
7. In the Least critical event to report to the trace log
list, click Unexpected.
8. Click OK to save the changes.
